Milestones

In just a few days, our little guy will be six months! We cannot believe how fast time has gone. Since the next six months are bound to be filled with even more excitement, we figured we should wrap up the first half of Simon's year with a few pics and an update on a few things he has been up to since the last entry...

Mac, Maggie & Simon have become great pals. The baby consistently tries to pet the dogs and they are very patient with him. Simon is smiling tons, giggling, rolling and maneuvering himself to move on the floor like a little inchworm, and becoming a little flirt!

Simon has been enjoying playing in his jumparoo. He loves playing the piano and jumping while Mom & Dad jump along to his tunes. He also gazes at himself in the mirror that sits just below his friend, the spinning Mr. Frog. Recently he went through a growth spurt and we had to raise his chair two notches off the floor. Simon is a tall little guy!

As he has grown, Simon has become more patient and able to sit back and relax. He ditched his fussiness and really 'goes with the flow' now. Here's a great pic of Simon hanging out in his bouncy seat, much like his Grandpa Spilker would be sitting back and enjoying his evening :-)

Simon was showing extreme interest in what we ate, even smacking his lips while he watched us at dinnertime. So, we started him on rice cereal & oatmeal around 5 1/2 months. He LOVED it! He now gets to eat breakfast and dinner with us and must hold the spoon himself.

Around 4 months, Simon got his two front bottom teeth. Teething was a piece of cake! At almost 6 months, he is now teething again (for his top front teeth) and it is not as easy this time around (needless to say, sleeping has not been as restful during this time). But, he is our little trooper!
Ready for winter, and ready for another 6 months...There's definitely more to this story, but it's to be continued...
