Catching Up!

We are finally getting settled once again. We're all moved into our new place, Scott's got his office all set up (with a great view!) and Kim started work yesterday. We're now in a routine...or starting to get there. Kim will be working at Yale Law School in New Haven, which is an easy commute by train. The station is not even 5 minutes from home, so it worked out perfectly with our move.

We are also settling in our new home - it's a beautiful place and welcome you to come visit us!

We are now located in Westbrook, which sits on Long Island Sound. A major 'plus' about Westbrook is the availability of anything we might need - two grocery stores within 5 minutes, lots of restaurants, two outlet malls, and other conveniences we missed for a few months.

Here are a few photos of our new place...

This is a 3-story home with living space on the 2nd & 3rd stories. The first floor houses the 3 car garage and lots of storage. The second story has two bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, laundry, and a great view with lots of windows! As you head up to the third floor, you'll come to the all-in-one kitchen, dining room, living room, office area and another bathroom (separate, of course). The stairs are a bit hairy, as they are a spiral staircase and quite steep. Else, the outside stairs goes to each level with separate entrances there, too.

Here is the view from the top floor looking in our backyard. Behind us is a small little pond and then the marina. There are also some great sunsets looking back this way!
Above is a photo of the front yard from the top level and the view of the Sound. I believe this photo was early in the morning at low tide, so you may be able to see the sandbars in the right side of the photo. The 'road' on the left is our driveway.

Here is looking outside during Hurricane Hannah. It was quite windy and the sky looked amazing. We didn't get much weather, just some good gusty winds and rain.

Finally, and of course no set of photos would be complete without the dogs, here are Mac & Maggie at 'our' beach. Just across the street there is a small path that leads here and they (and we) enjoy spending time there. I don't think the dogs ever really saw shells, so they try to eat them...and Mac barks at the horseshoe crabs wondering what to make of them.

P.S. Up the staircases in front and back of the house we have grapes and grapeleaves! YUMMY :)
